Since its creation in 1999, Lois Rodden’s AstroDatabank has been astrology’s pre-eminent software for exploring astrological charts. AstroDatabank is powered by the most respected and authoritative database with over 31,000 well researched biographies collected for nearly 50 years by Lois Rodden, Pat Taglilatelo and hundreds of well-respected data collectors from all over the world. This workshop is designed to help both the novice and the advanced user make AstroDatabank their favorite, “fun and games” software. Find how easy it is to discover astrological connections between charts and to seek and find specific chart configurations you are searching for. Did you know?

  • Lois Rodden's AstroDatabank is the only astrology software product that lets you search through a huge databank of well-researched birth data using biographical or astrological criteria.
  • See birth and biographical details for famous, infamous, and other fascinating lives.
  • Examine a person's chart in your wheel program of choice.
  • Print sorted lists of your friends and relatives by sign and house to nail down astrological concepts by example.
  • Beginning and intermediate students will turbo-charge their learning; and advanced practitioners can create well researched lesson plans and develop personalized research observations.
  • Have fun pulling people from the databank that have the same aspects as you, and see how they dealt with the same challenge.
  • Quickly test astrological theories by selecting groups of people based on astrological or biographical similarities.

Our breakthrough research tool, Astro-Signatures™, allows you to scan charts with much of the subtlety of a human astrologer. Within AstroDatabank there are 31,000 well researched biographies divided into 660 categories, 125 event types and 45 relationship types each one a potential research study.

Afternoon session:

Researching Astrology Can Be Fun...yes it can, far better than the root canal and not nearly as painful, complicated nor expensive as think when someone says “astrological researchHave you ever gone to a lecture and heard a theory you wanted to check out, such as "the ruler of the 10th in the 4th indicates work from the home"? Never got around to it, did you? Have you ever wondered what the common elements are in charts of people with arthritis, but had a hard time finding enough charts to establish a clear pattern? With AstroDatabank, you can quickly and easily explore the connections between astrology and behavior. In this afternoon session we are going to rollup our sleeves and look at some of the real power behind AstroDatabank. Aside from “proving” or “disproving” the above theory, we well learn about ADB’s FAR function (Factor Analysis Research). This powerful new feature automatically compares over 309,000 independent factors and tells you the number of times each factor is found in the experimental and control group. You can then sort the results to show which factors showed the most difference. The factors compared include: planets, house rulers, planet dispositors, and the major asteroids.

For each point the FAR analyzes:Positions by sign, element, mode, hemisphere, house, degree and declination. Dignity using essential dignity, accidental dignity, motion and speed. Aspects using 144 rules to compare 16 aspects based on nine attributes (opening, closing, applying, separating and combinations of these).

We will learn how to use randomized control groups to provide statistical confidence to the astro-signature we will create. Astro-signatures can provide us astrologers an insight on the astrological complexion in certain vocations or groups of people.  For example, an astro-signature on alcoholism could help us determine if our FAR analyzed research could indicate if those factors are present in the chart we are interpreting.
